You might opt to search for pictures in Yahoo! in the event you do not know what roundabouts are. During my one month holiday in U.S.A last year, especially North East coast I did not see any.

They are a rarity in The States, but some planners are developing more. Here, near where I live, there is a new roundabout at the US-23 exit to Lee Road in Brighton, Michigan. This used to be a quite get-off on the edge of town. That is until they built a 100 store strip mall. There are two new roundabouts there and drivers are having a heck of a time using them. Americans aren't used to them. I've traveled extensively and think they are a great time saver. Just go around until the street you want comes by and peel off. If you miss it, just go round again. That's a lot better than waiting for a light to change to green.

Pfffffftt, now that's in basic terms stupid. I drove on an exceedingly abandoned roundabout the 2d time I ever drove a automobile. And thank God it become empty, 'reason I completely could have killed somebody in any different case. i become bowled over once I found out the Brits and Aussies stress on the left edge of the line. Now that's in basic terms barbaric.

In parts of the United States we refer to them as "Traffic Circles". I live in Southern California, and there is one in the City of Long Beach. You're correct "mate" they aren't common here.

Yes, we have small single lane ones here in Utah. Nothing like the large multi-lane ones they have in Europe and South America. I personally detest them, but the city engineers think they are wonderful.

YEs, but I've only seen one in Ft.Worth Texas.Seems to me a 4 way stop/Traffic signal would be easier though and less hectic for heavy traffic???
