We have the same thing going on here. It takes a while, but they will get used to each other once the cat realizes the dog is here to stay. Now our cat puts up with the dog and only makes her squeal when the dog gets too rough. (our cat has all his claws) Now occasionally they will even sleep next to each other on the same chair. It just takes time.....they'll straighten it out.

The cat should have been tamed as a kitten. she is probably jealous or threatened by the pup. The dog will soon know not to mess w/kitty. I would get a water gun if u have to discourage the kitty.

Keep the cat away from the dog.

they will get over it and become friends (or distant aquantainces) eventually. mine did, i have a 9 yr old grouchy cat and when i got my new pup (2 years ago) they did the exact same thing. if anything, it will make the cat more loving, oddly enough.....

:)

good luck!!
