For example, I think the group U2 is talented, but I don't understand what the big fuss is about... I don't hate their music, but at the same time, I don't see why people think they're so great. Are there any groups that any of you feel the same way about?

Yup there are several bands I think are like that..The Beatles are the first band that comes to mind. I mean they had some good songs... but they are nothing special too me. There music doesn't speak too me I guess. I HATE these emo bands like MCR and Panic at the disco..they are wayyyyyy over rated. thre songs suck big time. and they are always whinning about something.

U2 for sure, my pick is HIM and My Chemical Romance. HIM the band highly promoted by Viva La Bam suports the gothic scene and really creates some obsesive fans with no self respect. MCR is caught up in the punk and hardcore scene and all they do is cry about thing in life and the only reason they are popular is cuz 13 thru 16 year old girls that are dumm and love that crap. talent is one thing but the things they say and the clothes they wear is focusing attention away from the music and screw bono "were saven the food for the starven children" hehe

I agree with you about U2.
Anything you see on MTV in the last ten years is overrated. (I only put the time constraint on since Nirvana was around in the early 90s, though many believe them to be overrated as well. I do not).

Earth, Wind, & Fire are in my book the most overrated band of all time. They were good instrumentalists, but their music is not diverse. When you hear one EW&F song, you've essentially heard them all, because they sound exactly the same on all of them.
Also, Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers are responsible for some of the blandest music in the entire rock catalogue.

Fall Out Boy and Panic! At the Disco are SO overrated! Everyone loves them, but they can't even sing! FOB was on a New Year's Eve bash thing last year (turning 2006) and they weren't even in time, let alone key. All these two bands do is swear, and they're overall just horrible and really sacrilegious. But apparently that's what the world loves nowadays.

Panic! at the disco, Fall Out Boy, Green Day, All American Rejects, Cute Is What We Aim For, Hawthorne Heights, 30 Seconds to Mars, etc. Moslty every main stream band cause they all suck!
