I'm a first year undergrad and this semester's grades are so bad i'll probably be put on academic probation. However, I have every intent of getting perfect marks next semester. Last year I applied to a different state university where I was accepted. I want to reapply and transfer there for fall '07. Will one semester of academic probation completely ruin my chances of getting in? Do universities give you a chance to show improvement during spring semester before accepting or rejecting you, or do they ever do something like accept you but make it clear they expect you to keep your grades up or else they'll dismiss you?
