oh and if you arent in uniform they wont even let you come in the school. we have police at our school. and when they say to wear your uniforms the next day they wont specify what uniform so since i am in marching band i should wear my band uniform just as the funniest rebellion in the schools history

Some families can't afford to buy uniforms.
Teachers aren't required to wear uniforms.
What benefit are uniforms more than a school dress code?
What specifically do uniforms add to the process of learning?(the primary reason for school) The answer is none. Are all the issues involved with requiring uniforms worth it?

Maybe you should have thought of these good reasons before deciding to go in front of the school board...
I honestly don't know any good reason to oppose them except maybe for wanting to be unique and you can't be in a school uniform.
Good Luck

Uniforms attempt to make the children all the same, so they have no differences to distract or oppose them, and in life they will have to learn to deal with everybodys differences, including the way they present themselves.
and conformity is bad. let the kids express themselves.
and pedophiles hang out around private schools with girls in uniforms and they are just plain creepy. (atleast around the only school I went to with uniforms.)

Our district recently put a uniform policy in place. It is more expensive (at least for me because I have to buy multiple wardrobes for my kids). There are some major enforcement issues -- are students sent home for violations? Who polices the uniforms? Search for some studies on the issue. I found some when we were considering them that said they do not help with discipline issues.

School uniforms take away individuality and creativity in a free-thinking system. Not everyone feels comfortable in certain styles and colors, and if you're not comfortable sitting in class then you cannot concentrate

well, school uniforms deprive one of their permissevness, individuality and self expression, they are expensive, some people do not feel comfortable wearing them, there is no proof that school uniforms will improve anything (academic perdormance, school enviroment, etc)...

i wear school uniforms, and they stink, they really do...
i think clothes allow people to express themselves and they have the right to wear what they choose and not the school.
