Cleaning the lint filter after each load not only eliminates the possibility of fire, but maintains the level of heat. A build-up of lint reduces the dryer's effectiveness and the loads will take longer and longer to dry.

I clean mine every time I dry a load of clothes. It makes the dryer work better and the clothes dry faster. Leaving the lint in the dryer can build up and possibly be a fire hazard

Acutally you don't have to clean the lint out of the dryer, you can just let your house burn down. JK... But seriously you MUST clean the filter each time you use the dryer, else you risk your house burning down. I never wish that on anyone. It is a terrible experience, we lost our home in March of last year. I NEVER NEVER wish that on anyone. The first part was just a light joke. Just to get peoples attention.

After each load...if you need a craft project, dryer lint glued to a drawing of an animal makes a great fur look alike.

Every load. An aside: I know someone that collects dryer lint to spin it into yarn. She gets so excited when someone buys new towels b/c they produce so much lint. I love my odd friends and family.

Before every load. I learned a long time ago that if you don't it takes longer for the next load to dry and uses a lot more energy. Gotta do what I can to conserve with the state of the world the way it is.

You need to clean it out every time you use the dryer. Cuz if you don't the filter get clogged and its harder for the dryer to dry your clothes faster.

Every load. To collect a blanket of lint is a fire hazard in there.
