Well it's only natural to act different around certaing people.. for example you would totally act a little- somewhat different around your friends than you do your parents, however it is TOTALLY not ok to act different around every different person you are around.. we would call those people (the ones your discribing) FAKE-People Pleasers. Do your best to stay away from these people-- they tend to mix up LOTS of drama... beside why would you want to hang out with someone who dont even know who they are??

No, people act different around different people. Nobody acts the same all the time, at least I've never known anyone who does. It's better to do what makes you comfortable and not worry whether or not someone feels you are fake. if I thought that, then every man i was ever around, when he was talking with his friends, I would have thought to myself, he's fake, look at how different he acts. Not true. hope that helps.

Everyone does this all the time. I am sure you act a certain way around your mom or dad and different around your friends. Yet different at church and different in at the beach and different at a restaurant. You can't be yourself all of the time. So we put on a new attitude according to where and whom your with. It is okay for this actions because we all do them.

Hey, being yourself is hard, so being in a broadway play has to be hell, its a trip because at work you have to be professional, at church you have to be christian, at home you have to be a parent, wife or friend, in the streets you have to be on point. So, I guess the answer to the question is yes, but in each one of them scenarios there's you. And you have to know who you are in order to be able to pull these other people off. Life is a game baby, and some just know how to play it better than most. So what you have to do is be aware of the game and play your part.
Some do go a little overboard but don't worry about them, you came here alone and you will leave alone. Just feel blessed that you can recognize and act when you see one.

We all act and lie, to a certain degree. Are you always 100% honest, even if say, you hurt a friend's feelings with your honesty? Are you going to say to a friend who is a little on the heavy side: 'wow that VS dress looks nice on you', or are you going to be honest and admit: 'sorry sweety, wasn't worth the money'. The question is, how far are we going with our act....

Certainly not. I mix with people from all walks of life, I'd hardly take a debutante to a bloke's pub for a few beers and I wouldn't take a yobbo to a formal occasion. Therefore, I fit in with their theme when I'm with them. That doesn't make me phony, it means I understand individuals needs and act accordingly.

Acting different isn't the same as acting phony as long as you stay true to yourself!

No it's not alright or good to act different around different people because thats being fake and no one knows who you truly are and then everyone begins to distrust you. That is a phony and people should accept you for who you are and they can't if your being fake.
Hope I helped,
Brianna

it doesnt mean they are phony...it might be they are very divrse in their persona...
if they are a hypocrite..and lie and say something they like in front of one person..and say something different to another..they are phony..
but if they act "different"..maybe they want to impress or show respect
i am algerian..in my culture...u act one way around parents..than u do to friends..
i guess americans are that way too...but in my culture u see the difference very plainly
