I coach a minor football team in Hamilton (ages 8-11), We are coming off our best season in team history. We went from a team that was 0-8 for years to a team with a 5-3 recored. This year we lose 17 kids that move up to the next Division. My Question is how do we get more kids to come out and play this great sport we call football?

these kids are 8-11 they prob still think girls are icky so hot chicks wont exactly work, you should just have advertising, maybe put up flyers at local elementry schools plenty of kids should come, you could also try some signs on the side of the road

Everybody wants to feel important for any achievement. If there was more room for the kids to play the game without getting hurt, maybe more would come out.
Kids hang out with kids and they know who are the tough guys and sometimes they avoid them. It is best to try to establish different levels of football and allow the kids to choose the division they would like to play in and give everybody equal coverage within the school-community newspaper.
By simply encouraging the kids during any other athletic event during the summer/spring, many times the same kid who is trying to play baseball will also try to play football in the winter. Approach each youngster on an individual basis, rather than wait for them to come to you.
