Please Help With Math Problems...Struggling?

Please help me out with these math problems. I'm really struggling to get the right numbers for the equations...any need would be greatly appreciated. Sorry if I seem stupid or anything. =(

1. 5x - (2x + 2) = x + (3x - 5)

First, take care of the parentheses:
5x - 2x - 2 = x + 3x - 5
Combine like terms:
3x - 2 = 4x - 5
Isolate the variable:
5 - 2 = 4x - 3x
3 = x


2. (x/2) = (3x/4) + 5

Multiply through by 4 (LCD):
(x/2) = (3x/4) + 5
2x = 3x + 20
Isolate the variable:
2x - 3x = 20
-x = 20
x = -20


3. (3/[x + 4]) - 7 = -4/[x + 4]

Multiply through by [x + 4] (LCD):
(3/[x + 4]) - 7 = -4/[x + 4]
3 - 7[x + 4] = -4
Take care of the parentheses:
3 - 7x - 28 = -4
Combine like terms:
-25 - 7x = -4
Isolate the variable:
-7x = 25 - 4
7x = -21
x = -3


4. 4/(x + 5) + 2/(x - 5) = 32/(x^2 - 25)

Understand that x^2 - 25 = (x + 5)(x - 5).
Now, multiply through by the LCD, which is the quantity (x + 5)(x - 5):
4/(x + 5) + 2/(x - 5) = 32/(x^2 - 25)
4(x - 5) + 2(x + 5) = 32
Take care of the parentheses:
4x - 20 + 2x + 10 = 32
Combine like terms:
4x + 2x + 10 - 20 = 32
6x - 10 = 32
Isolate the variable:
6x = 32 + 10
6x = 42
x = 7

Check all your answers in the original equations to verify that they satisfy the equation.

Also, make sure you *understand* the solutions and how you got them before you turn this in. I don't think "Wheezer helped me" is going to be a good enough explanation for your instructor. ; )

Eh... neither... yet i assume i'm going to decide for English. I used to love English extra yet intense college made it boring. -_- yet I nevertheless love writing as a activity (and hate math, even nonetheless i'm no longer undesirable at it) so i'm going to easily say English.
