There is scientific evidence of the effects of love, and evidence for what love does to the body. It's hard to say what love itself is, though. Most studies on this topic have to specifically define how they will test for love (sometimes they use newly wed couples).

Love is only one of the many unquantifiable things out there. There is no proof on the existence of love. However, scientists have measured physio-chemical responses whose characteristics correlatively point out to what we call love. Increase in adrenaline in the bloodstream, faster heart beat, sweating, increase in libido or sexual urge are but a few. Mind you, the difficulty of pinning down the feeling of love to certain set of sypmtopms lie on the fact that love cannot be isolated from the web of human emotions--it is intricately woven with excitement, anger and violence (ex. watching violent films elicits similar physiological responses mentioned above).
If you're going to be a practical chap, then the proof of love's existence is a child. After all, love is a genetic trick to ensure the propagation of our species!
[There's no such thing as "love test"...only pregnancy test.]
