"Gal," 15 months is a long time.Take a vacation to Trinidad if you can with in the next 6 months, make arrangement for a place to stay with your (special) b/f.Stay as long as your job will allow you too, or longer if you and (special )b/f can afford it.( Trinidad is about 1/6 the expense of the US) You are going to learn allot about yourself and your(special) b/f, especially from his friends and family. You going to enjoy the simplicity of the people and the beauty of island-living. If the relationship gets "rough", just fly home, the experience is going to be priceless for you in many ways. (especially for not waiting 15 months.)
If you or b/f can't afford a travel ticket on credit, then it is up to you.Go with your feelings on a day to day bases. As time goes bye, you or b/f might feel that the relationship is not so special to wait.
Either way, you will learn something about the relationships.
PS. Trinidad is as safe as anywhere in the US. Be smart and stay safe. Good luck.

Either way, you have to be ready for surprises. There are no guarantees in life and whichever choice you make it is still filled with uncertainty. It is a matter of taking risks and learning from the lessons.

If you must leave him, make sure you make your point clear and tell him that you can't wait for him to come back. You must be ready to bear all the pain and probably the regrets later on. Although i don't really see the reason why you should do it because if it is a job-related trip then it is understandable. You should, in fact, be there to support him morally.

If you must stick it out with him, you must be ready to face a long-distance affair - a tough one especially if your relationship's foundation is still young and not strong enough. You two must constantly communicate and reassure each other. Sometimes, being away from each other makes both your hearts grow fonder. It would be filled with surprises.

Whatever it is that you decide on, no regrets please! Life is full of lessons.
