I saw this show on Oprah, and she defined classes as poor middle and rich. She said the gap between poor and rich is growing. I think the situation is kind of ridiculous.

Yes, the gap between the rich and poor is widening and the middle class is shrinking. Maybe w/ the new congress they will approve a higher minimum wage, but how much difference will that make when CEO's get $20million severance packages and $57million in bonuses?

what part of ridiculous do you like best the first part of the word no or the second part of the word no~c i wanted to have a chunk of the families wealth too, (but the word no got in there) is it just have maybe the same idea u do, that if the silver spoon wasn't choking you to death every minute of everyday some one would figure out how to get it away from u, and there is a lot more dog eat dog than there has ever been between the bottom and the top, i was notified that if i wanted to inherit from my fathers estate i would have to raise about forty thousand to go and hire an attorney and living accommodations for half a year in Santa Barbara superior court, to take on my fathers second wife for my third of the estate and i just didn't have it and Illinois is dark and dreary of ever and the gap between where i was and where i am can make me bleed from both ears if i get off on a rant, so the player like dad who had thirteen real estate offices in California doesn't come around everyday so i have to pack up and just enjoy the world and forget about what could have been, but I've been rich and I've been poor and rich is better

There are more than 3 " Classes" in this day and age! Homeless, poverty stricken, Welfare cases, minimum wage earners, Poor( Under 20,000.00 per yr.)Middle class( 35 000.00) and up (SINGLE) Upper middle class( The ones who pay the taxes)55.000.00-100.000.00 per yr.! Any thing over that do not pay TAXES! End of story! MIDDLE CLASS PAYS, ALWAYS DID! ALWAYS WILL!

There truly are only 2 classes----the ones who PAY tax, and the ones who get OUT of paying tax.

I am solid middle class---and we foot the bill for the whole country!!
The "rich" can afford lawyers to help avoid tax.
The poor get back all they paid---and sometimes MORE than they paid.
That leaves people like me- hard-working, honest, tax-paying family people-to pay the taxes for EVERYONE.
I'm pretty sick of it, too!
