I don't care for the body styling, and I don't know that much about them yet, but heres a couple Silverado facts about 2 I have.
2001 Silverado: 5.3 V8 original motor *rebuilt tranny* 18 mpg city, 21 mpg highway. Modified with bolt ons (exhaust, intake, etc) Runs like a champ, smoked a 2006 silverado, 2001 cobra and 2005 silverado SS. ****226,000 miles****

I have fresh odometer pics, and you can see how clean it is, including the motor. It's never had any body work, unless you count that I had the tailgate shaved for Christmas.
1994 Silverado: 4.3 V6, original motor and tranny, about 18 mpg highway, 15 city. Exhaust only, runs good, beat Z28s and GTs when newer. ****300,000 miles**** Sold in 2005 with 270,000 miles
So, judging by that alone, yes they deserve it! lol They are awesome trucks. They ride great and get good gas mileage. They can haul pretty heavy loads fairly well too, and really hold up. Not to mention they hold their value so well. My 01 is still worth around $8,000 which isn't bad, even with all the miles. Neither of those ever left me stranded, except the 01 when the fuel pump went out. Big deal, that happens.
BOTH have been used as work trucks. The 94 pulled my 3 horse slant trailer every weekend for 3 years, and the 01 has been used to pull it as well, and will be used this year to haul my boyfriends 69 C10 to out of state car shows. I had the 94 when I was 15, so imagine the hell it went through with a ignorant driver.
I think if the new ones don't deserve it for some reason, and I can't think why they wouldn't, knowing how GM is, the older ones most definitly do.
