Are males becomming less and less masculine.?

Question

I do not mean burping and drinking beer and crushing the cans on their foreheads. But I have seen how the National Organization of Witches have trained their women to keep the man in their life tame.

Is the American male perceived as a threat to women ? I believe that the man and women should be equal.

You see all of the time how the typical while male is portrayed in commericials as a dumb bumbling fool that is either FAT or BALD or a combination thereof. Once or twice OK but 99 percent of any commericial foes out of their way to show America what a boob the white man is.

TV is TV I know it is not real but there is something wrong with this picture.

If you think I am BSing you just flip on the TV and watch.

You are right in surmising that males are becoming less and less masculine. For the last few decades little boys have not been treated in a male-empowering way. The vast majority of teachers in elementary schools are female (don't get on my case, I'm not against it), and boys are somewhat discriminated against in the classroom. Not because they are boys, but because the girls are less hyper, sit quietly, have more focus, and are generally less rambunctious. Boys are encouraged not to act like boys. Boys are put on Ritalin to level them out. None of the kids are encouraged to run around, and this is particularly hard on the boys.

This all makes a difference to the boys as they grow into men. I don't know if TV portrays men to be 'boobs', exactly, but they aren't portrayed as masculine either. They are either wimpy or else violent nutjobs, certainly not manly.

it all depends on what you call "masculine"... you don't really define it... and everyone probably has their own version...

some qualities viewed as "masculine" for many are bad... guys who settle things with violence, don't use their brain to solve a problem... those who have no need for thought or mental stimulation... no need for art or literature

some are good... physical strength can certainly be handy... and females are more attracted to the masculine figure, I would say... and a certain amount of around the house "handy-ness" may also be involved, which is good too...

I think the times are changing... and I think it has little to do with TV... and much more to do with men pushing buttons more on a computer for a living and less hammering nails for a living... and it's just going to continue...

I guess it depends on your point of view... if you think it's a bad thing or not...

I have saw exactly what your talking about, I agree with the TV part. You observe real well. I, myself do not believe to much of what i see on TV. The commercials and media are good about deceiving the public. I think for the most part, men are still men. That witch thing you were talking about, like the media and commercials, they just want people to think they have more control over their men than they really do. Guess it must have been a interesting article, but do not believe every thing you read.

beleaving that men and women are equal is a great thing but it is not true in the world, if you look at the stats females make less for doing the same job pay more for cars and on and on. females have to prove them self in most places like where i work tehre is some heavy lifting they guys will baby the new girl untill they know she knows what she is doing then they back off in a rush to see if she can handel it and if they can then she earned there respect. it is like that in way to many places and it should not have to be becasue in most of the physical jobs i have done we were better them most of he guys.
No males sholud not be portraied as the dumb bumbling fool but you must not have watched tv for years becasue that is not all the commericials. i would say tops 75% not 90 but on that same page how many commericials show females as the house wife cooking and cleaning.
Men are not becoming less masculine because of us it is by choice. men did not have the choice 20 30 years ago but now nicer cloths ahd hair products are being marketed to them and they use that stuff by choice no one is putting a gun to there head telling them the have to do there hair and look nice even in there time off.
If you dont want to do it then fine there is nothing wrong with it. by the way most survays say that females want a scruffy guy that is not totaly clean cut all the time. stop worring about eveyone else and worry about your self

yes of course, with homosexuality being more accepted it means that, oh Wait I'm soo soo sorry, i don't mean to sound like a homophobe, there is nothing wrong with being gay, i think that every one should be treated the same, weather they are a white man or a black guy, oops so sorry, that sounds racist doesn't it? i didn't mean to, don't take me to court I'll try to be more careful. its just when we talk about men being more masculine than women, no not that there is anything wrong with that, women have the right to be masculine if they want to, they have the same abilitys and should be treated the same, not that they are weaker or anything , i don't mean anything by it, its just, oh darn, don't get mad or fire me or anything, I'm so so sorry I'll take a course or something to try to correct my bad behaviour, its just that i think, um what was the question?

I noticed years ago and everyone told me i was just hating on everone else but yes there is an attempt in wich to portray the white male in this way! and this angers me very much! if they where doing this to any other male other than white,everyone would all a sudden notice and point the finger at white people!

YES YES and oh yeah....YES! This whole metro sexual thing has got to go. It's borderline homosexual to me. I miss men being men, that's what I'm attracted to. I think you're right, men ARE becoming less masculine. TV and movies are portraying (mostly) white men as ignorant, overweight, and desperate for any contact with a woman. It's totally pathetic.
