My friend was telling me about an ancient battle that occurred in North America between Egyptians and Indonesians... He says that researchers found some 250,000 arrowheads near Michigan, and that the Egyptians and Indonesians were fighting over copper mines... Apparently this battle occurred more than 4,000 years ago... Has anyone else heard about this, or read more specific details about it in any text?

Methinks your friend is pulling your leg. I'd like to see this book he refers to. It sounds like it's good for a few laughs.
I highly doubt any ancient Egyptian ever met an Indonesian, especially in Michigan. Had they even known the area we now call Michigan existed, and it held copper, it would have taken years for any of them to get there (if they could at all) with the transportation they had 4,000 years ago. The Egyptians had all they could handle just floating around in the Mediteranean Sea let alone trying to cross the Atlantic Ocean not knowing if there was anything out there. Indonesians were a bit more seafaring than the Egyptians and it is possible that a few actually made it to the west coast of North America but it's very unlikely.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure that never happened. the Egyptian's ships couldn't cross open sea. Thor Heyerdahl proved this when he tried to sail across the atlantic in a reed boat. And how would Indonesians get to Michigan? They are a maritime people. They wouldn't have left the ocean to walk all the way to Michigan.

This sounds like an exciting piece of fiction and it certainly would make a great science fiction book. I think that's what your friend may have read, disappointing though that answer is. There have been a number of claims for Europeans and Middle Easterners finding their way to North America but so far all proofs have been revealed as forgeries.

I've never heard of this but I'd have to say that the very idea of it is ludicrous.

One would think if something like this had happened we'd all know about it.
