Why do clueless people who can't spell bother to ask questions?

Seriously, I realize that we are raising a generation or two of complete morons, but WTF... hasn't anyone ever heard of "spellcheck"?? I mean it seems like maybe 1 in 20 people even know the difference between "their", "they're" and "there", for example. As far as the spelling goes... obviously there are a LOT of public school graduates, as many here make GW Bush look like a Mensa board member. Is GW's presidency prescient? Are we doomed to look forward to future where cretins are the rule rather than the exception? What do you think?

Seriously, people in glass houses shouldn't throw stones. Your paragraph is written very poorly, yet you have the audacity to question others ability to use the English language.

Alot of the people on Yahoo are not Americans. English is not their first language, and they have to spell the words phonetically. Conjugating a verb is very hard for them to do. Often, spell check would not pick out what the word should be, as the spelling is so off. Have a little compassion. I find most of the ''bad'' spelling is from this.

And, you usually can tell when the person is just plain stupid. There are those, too.

Did spellcheck catch "prescient"??? Not everyone had the priveledge of being born in the US, or graduate HS. Some do the best they can. And I can already tell you'll never be a mensa member.

I agree. Now, I'm okay and understanding of typos and some informal writing, that's fine... but when people can't spell simple words or know they're/there/their and to/too and basic, simple, English, that's just obnoxious. Where are the parents and teachers of these people???

And I'm sorry, Homor Simpsom appears smarter than GWB.

OH! If you are not a native English speaker, then you're automatically forgiven (although all of the non native speakers I know have better grammar than most Americans!!)

People have become more lazier, adults an children. Most children who spell like an imbecile usually do it on purpose. Because it's looked at as "cool" from friends.

Remember everyone poor grammar an vocabulary gets you far in life!

English not being your "good" language or your first language isn't an excuse for horrid grammar and vocabulary. There are about twenty other versions of Yahoo! Answers. There is Japanese/Spanish/Chinese an so many more. If English is a hard language why are you in the English, Yahoo! Answers, It doesn't make sense does it?

well i am one of those who use there ,instead of their.. when referring to people .. i use the spell check but since it is spelled right .. it don't pick it up.. and some time i catch my error and sometimes i don't.. we are typing so fast we don't always see it...
