Look up some conversion site to find how many square feet are in an acre.

(a) Multiply by 4 and you get the number of square feet in 4 acres. Take the square root of that number to get the side of a square having a 4-acre area.

(b) Add up the four sides...

(c) time = distance / speed. Remember to convert! A mile is 5280 feet.

Good luck!

a four acre lot - dimensions?

an acre is 43560 square feet

the length of a side is the root of 43560 which equals 208.71 feet

a four acre lot would have two acres on each side so that would be 208.71 x 2 = 417.42 feet = the length of each side

therefore the perimeter would be 4 x 417.42 = 1669.68 feet

5280 feet = 1 mile

1669.68 feet = .333936 miles or 1/3 of a mile

can walk three miles in one hour

3 = 60 min

1/3 = 1/3 x 60 divided by 3 = 6.66 min

or if you can walk 3 miles in 1 hour (60 minutes)

then you can walk 1 mile in 1.3 of that = 20 minutes

and 1/3 of that in 20 divided by 1/3 = 6.66 minutes

a) One acre is 43560 sq feet so four would be 174240

One side would be 417 feet

b) If it's square and one side is 417 feet then all four sides will be about 1668 feet

c) The mile is a non-standard unit but if it's statute miles then one mile is 5280 feet so three miles is 15840 feet so you could walk around that lot in 1668/15840 hours or about 6.5 minutes
