Full-Moon Madness
The moon's gravity is strong enough to raise tides in our oceans, but does it affect human behavior as well?

It's not hard to find police officers, nurses, doctors, and even lawyers who'll say that they see a sharp rise in "incidents" -- more violent attacks, more emergency room visits, more births . . . you get the picture -- when the moon is full.

The full moon has often affected my dreams (having more nightmares when the moon is full), and the other day was a full moon and I witnessed something that almost never happens and i also did something that I wouldn't normally do. Someone TPed my neighbor's house and that rarely ever happens in my city. Then the same night, my brother and I went out at 3am and drew on the streets with chalk. Also something that doesn't happen often.

I heard that since humans are mostly water, the moon could change our behavior because it can change tides in the ocean, but I think that more research needs to be performed to see for sure.

Ineffable nonsense!! I do not care if god all mighty said that there is a " full moon " effect, because there is none. This has been shown statistically, time and time again. One answer here hit the nail. The person who said we just pay more attention during " full moon " times. There is no more " lunacy " during a full moon than at any other time. Look at the real numbers and you would know. Of course, I am in social science, so belief, ideology and political correctness weigh more than the truth here.

I have friends who work in the fire department as well as nurses who have told me that there is a sharp rise in "incidents" during a full moon. I haven't noticed any behavioral changes in myself or those around me. Now that you have brought it to my attention again, I will watch for the next few months and let you know of my findings.

Yes the moon affects our moods.
If you don't believe the doctors and nurses from emergency rooms then go see for yourself. On a full moon night there is standing room only in most emergency departments, and they are usually injured from fights not accidents. It's not just the amount of injuries on a full moon night, it's the type of injury.

As a nurse, I see a definite change in human behavior during the phases of the moon.During the full moon there are more acts of violence, births and suicides.

lunatic is a french derivative meaning the belief that intermittent insanity is related to the phases of the moon.In some countries some criminal acts are care lesser punishment if committed during certain phases of the moon.

I dont think that it is Full moon Madness. I think that what it is, is that we hear that all the whack jobs come out during a full moon so much, that we actually look for it more.
There is the same amount of nut jobs out there everyday but we are just looking for it more intently during a full moon

just like the moon effects the tides, it also effects the water in our bodies. this causes different affects based on the person. some people will become more violent, some worse drivers, and some will have their "water broken" when they are pregnant.
