usually at about 8 weeks, although sometimes that is a bit early. I know a woman who did not hear the heartbeat at 8 weeks, and was told that baby had died. She refused to believe that and sure enough a heartbeat was detected at 10 weeks. She now has a happy, healthy 4 month old.

I found out I was pregnant at five weeks and it's my doctor's policy to see expectant mothers and perform internal ultrasounds (or maybe they're sonograms, I'm not sure of the difference) every week until twelve weeks because that's the most critical time when miscarriages can occur (and the heartbeat can't be heard that soon anyway to make sure things are progressing). At six weeks, I saw the heartbeat, but it's much later to actually hear it when the do the external ultrasounds. I don't remember from my first pregnancy, but it may be around 12 weeks or later.

an ultrasound detected my son's heartbeat at 5 weeks 6days , due to bleeding I had an ultrasound to see if I miscarried, turns out he was just fussy and didn't like the spot he was in so he moved, they call this implantation bleeding. His heartbeat sound was picked up at 12 weeks.(where they put the thing on your belly and you can hear it (forget what that called) . He is now a healthy 6 yr old. I am unsure as to how early a heartbeat can be seen on an ultrasound though.

The average to detect a fetal heartbeat is 10 weeks. Remember, every pregnancy is different. It also depends on what date the doctor thinks you conceived. It could vary from the actual date you conceived.

This same element occurred to me. the newborn did no longer thrive, as a result died. i concept i grew to become into approximately 9 weeks, whilst the ultrasound pronounced i grew to become into in basic terms 5 a million/2. those measurements are in many situations distinctly precise. they don't seem to be continuously perfect, yet in many situations interior of an afternoon or 2. i ended up getting in for yet another ultrasound in each and every week to verify the preliminary diagnosis, and nonetheless no exchange. had to have a D&C each and every week later with the aid of fact my physique does no longer expell it through itself. i realize it somewhat is tragic, and could be frightening for a protracted time, yet you will get pregnant back and function a healthful infant. i attempt to look at it this type; if I had that infant, I wounldn't have my son, and surely no longer my twins I had after that! My coronary heart is going out to you, i realize it hurts lots. :(
