Usually people get circumcised when their still a baby but I guess you could still do it if you really want to. If you do get it done now of course they'll be pain and you may get an infection since you are of course cutting off skin/flesh of a certain private body part if it isn't done well. If it is done well it'll still be painful but most likely no infection. It is your life and your own decision whether or not you want it. Just to let you know some women don't like men who are circumcised while others do. Don't rush into it think it out first.

Okay, well I've never had this done (and don't intend to), but I feel like it's the type of question anyone who knows anything about it should be able to answer. I've heard that it is painful (but you'll have painkillers for that) and recovery takes about 2-3 weeks or so. Your penis will probably sore for a while after that, and it may take a month or more for your glans (penis head) to desensitize or for you to get used to it. Until then, I'm going to guess it's very irritating.

My opinion is that if you have no problems currently with your foreskin (i.e. it functions perfectly, you can retract it fully and easily, you keep it clean daily) then don't get it done. It will definitely reduce sensation (because lots of nerves in the foreskin are cut away) and sensitivity will likely decrease with time.

Furthermore, circumcision doesn't prevent any STDs. With proper hygiene of the foreskin and safe sex, there is actually no statistically significant difference between having and not having a foreskin, including HIV (despite many recent reports). Also circumcision carries its own risks and complications (which mostly apply to infant circumcisions). Really, it's a coin toss. Some people afterwards wish they'd gotten it done sooner, others feel it's one of their biggest regrets in life. See links for more info.

Well I Have had it done as an adult, so unlike the last poster I know what I'm talking about! It does not hurt either during the procedure or during the healing - about 3 weeks in total. I love being circumcised and would not have a foreskin back for anything. Circumcised men have better hygiene, comfort, appearance to women, self-esteem and both they and their female partner(s) have FAR FAR better sensation during sexual intercourse. Go for it - all men should be circumcised!

Take a look at http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AibsbtNx00pq0ML8YHAtqiXsy6IX?qid=20070101193846AA385UM&show=7#profile-info-fb8a1b49d382006d635917de9dc08b3baa for a detailed first-hand account of the aftermath of this barbaric procedure before you have it done.

I still have my foreskin and thoroughly enjoy it, so I can't personally answer you, but this man is really speaking to the decision-making process.
