A friend of mine seems to think there is because she did a search of Freya, and the name of Lilith came up in her search

Are the two dieties really one and the same?

Yes and no.They're both Goddesses, but after that the connection sort of ends -- and by the by, my child, Lilith is NOT a Demon Goddess. She's A First Mother. Just because She wouldn't submit to Adam doesn't make Her the Mother of Demons (that took Men actually...you know who we're talking about, yes you do....). She's a rather nice fertility Goddess once you get to know Her; and so is Freyja (who is the primary Goddess of my Partner) Freyja is the Norse Fertility Goddess (okay, there is a connection, I'm sorry). I'm not going to go into a long Wikipedic-like lecture.
Both Goddesses are Lovely, They're not liked at all by the Nasty OT God (or by unforgiving Christians) Enjoy and Blessings.
And you'll notice one of those unforgiving Christians above me, bless them too.

hahaha, Lilith is by no means a demon goddess.

Lilith is the ruler of the lower dimensions. She is also the one you would call upon whenever you needed an animal to be saved, or to communicate with your animal of choice. Lilith is a very to-the-point goddess.

She and Freya, are in a sense the same.... Lilith/Freya rule the world of the fairies, gnomes, animal kingdom, nature. She is the one that keeps the bad guys behind closed doors as well. She keeps the part where all the "nightmares" go, locked up so they cannot escape.

Check out Gnostic beliefs for more information on Lilith.

from a mythical standpoint, Lilith was the first female, NOT from Adams Rib and was not subservant to him and was caste out only later to hook up with Caine after Abel murder.

Freya is a north mythology from the Viking era. she rode a horse that flew and brought valorous Viking warriors to Valhalla to eat with Odin. They are two separate faiths, wether you believe in relgion or not.

PSS" Lilith was NEVER a Vampire!! She was a Succubus. Only in the gaming world of White Wold does she teach Caine to be the first Vampire and that is just a story.

Lilith was also the first "Eve" & was called a demon because she wouldn't be submissive to Adam. She was an equal, which is why the second "story" with the rib came to be.
