A lot of referees are old school in their thinking as to how the NBA should look and behave. A lot of them have a lot of prejudices against the overall look and persona of certain players.
The league has changes a lot and a lot of old school people don't like what they are seeing and it showed.

Yes, the fine was for dissent. But if you saw the game and actually read what was said by AI, as a reasonable person, you would conclude that the technical was excessive which would inherently mean the a fine of $1 would be too much. Every since AI has been in the league, he and Javy (the prick official) have never gotten along. As I have said about NBA officials for the last couple of years, they official with their personal opinions. Anytime you T-up a player for telling you that you are making the game 'personal', the reaction (in my opinion) only lays claim to the comment.
Since when was a comment along those lines worthy of a T? That response seems personal to me. As far as I am concerned Jackass Javy (Steve Javy) and Prick Bavetta (Dick Bavetta) are the sorriest officials beacuse they single out players to pick on yet they are held in the highest esteem with the league. You can't be behavior police for certain players and call an accurate game. That is not good objective officiating. That is why those clowns miss (or probably ignore) so many calls.
But that's just what I think.

I'm no Iverson fan but this whole thing of fining the players when they talk bad about refs has gotten ridiculous. It's just David Stern trying to police the league. He has been embarrassed twice with the Pistons/Pacers fight and Nuggets/Knicks fight. If a ref does something wrong, then why shouldn't they be called out on it. I guarantee you that refs call fouls on players that they don't like. It's just stupid. Be fair. If you're going to call a foul on Iverson then call the same foul on Tim Duncan. No playing favorites. And stop giving B.S. techs and ejections to players.

Yes. He speaks for every single player in the league when criticizing the refs, as the truth is, most of the refs in the league are horrible. Anyway, its not like $25,000 is much to him, it's like penny change.
