Just get out there and knock on some doors, or if you don't want the face to face approach, how about going to your local library and getting the address of all your local businesses and write to them, if you send one hundred you're sure to get some positive responses, but the face to face option is always best, be sure to have some busines cards to give them once you've been, they are inexpensive but will work. Good luck woth the business. If that works you can clean my place for free for a week!

Having done various marketing techniques for a cleaning company, we still found that the most effective way was to flood your area with a well designed brochure (which you can design yourself to save money). People are very reluctant to throw away a nice brochure, which means it hangs around in a company for months.

After that you can buy marketing lists, tailored to suit your needs. You can choose postcodes, specific areas, size of company, etc, etc. All of this can be done on-line and the list is send to you via email in an excel spreadsheet.

All you need to do then is print the labels, pop your brochures in an envelope and post them.

Remember that no marketing comes free unless you are willing to visit prospective companies yourself on foot. However, you can visit many companies with no results as the percentages are quite low.

By spending a little money on marketing, you are putting the details of your services to hundreds of companies in your area, and therefore, increasing the chances of obtaining customers.

I have found that the companies listed below provide all of the marketing lists you require. Hope this helps.

Have you considered getting a freephone, as they only cost a couple of quid a month and give the impression you're larger and more established than you may be. If you'd like more information on getting one, just email me.

Good luck,

John Galvin.
