Deaf people are taught the same way anyone esle is...only, they are taught to speak with sign..an advantage, if you ask me. They may not grasp the meaning YOU express, but they grasp the one you don't want them to ...they read body language and facial expression as well as the actual words you speak.

Blind people don't "sense" the world, the way you mean it. A blind friend one said to me that blindness gives them the ability to place themselves spatially without being hampered by sight. They use ALL thier other senses.....hearing, touch (through the soles of thier feet)smell and a sense the sighted do not have....its something that can't quite be explained.

Deaf people can't hear, they are not stupid. They learn just like we do. They go to school, read and write. Try researching deaf people to find out what they can do.
A lot of blind people use a cane, or clicking sounds to sense where they are going. The clicking sound bounces off objects so they know to go around them, like an echo. Others use seeing eye dogs. If I am in a crowded or unfamiliar place, I use my cane. But when I am at home, or places I know, I use touch. A lot of it is repetition. Counting steps, knowing where the obstacles are. Doing the same thing over and over.

Do you understand what you just wrote? How do they understand without knowing the meaning? Can you see how you are assuming the answer?
They learn how to read and write in school. Then they can be trained to lip-read to pick up those words,
