I have a wal-mart gift card and would like to know the remaining amount on the card. How do I find it on line?

How to Use a Gift Card at Walmart.com

Using a Gift Card online at Walmart.com is simple. Just find a product that you would like to purchase and place it in your cart. When you check out, you will be given the option to pay for your order or a portion of your order with a Wal-Mart Gift Card. Simply click "Use a Wal-Mart Gift Card," and enter your card number and PIN. Your card balance will be automatically applied to your order total.

If your order total is less than the amount on your Gift Card, the remaining amount will be available on your card for future purchases. If your order total is more than the amount on your Gift Card, you will need to pay for the balance with additional Gift Cards or a credit card.

How quickly can I use my card?

There is no activation process required for using your card if the original purchaser did not receive an activation email. If the email with the activation password was relating to your card, the original purchaser will need to activate the card before you can use it to make purchases online. Where to Use a Gift Card

Plastic Gift Card
You can use a Plastic Gift Card that has a PIN at any Wal-Mart store and online at Walmart.com. SAM's Club members can also use a Plastic Gift Card that has a PIN at any SAM'S Club store location in the United States as well as online at Samsclub.com. If your card does not have a PIN, you can use it only in a Wal-Mart Store or SAM's Club.

What is a PIN?

A PIN is a personal identification number that is unique to your Gift Card. It is located on the back of your Gift Card in the bottom right corner under the silver scratch-off area.

Can I buy something that costs more or less than card amount?

Yes. If your order total is less than the amount on your Gift Card, the remaining amount will be available on your card for future purchases.

If your order total is more than the amount on your Gift Card, you will need to pay for the balance with additional Gift Cards or a credit card.

Where are my card number and PIN located?

Your card number and PIN are located on the back of your Gift Card under the silver scratch-off area. If you have an Online Gift Card, your card number and PIN were located in the email we sent you when your Online Gift Card was first received.

Can I store Gift Card information in my account?

Yes, you can store up to two Gift Cards in your account at any given time.

Storing Gift Card information is a convenient time-saver. You don't have to re-enter the Gift Card number and PIN when redeeming the card. This information is securely stored in your account, making your Gift Cards available for selection when you are paying for an order.

To store a Gift Card, follow these easy steps:
1. In Your Account, select the "View Gift Card Balance" link.
2. Click the Store Gift Card button and enter the requested information.

What do I do if I don't have a PIN?

For your security, we can accept only cards with a PIN. You can find your PIN on the back of your card in the bottom right corner under the silver scratch-off area. If you have an Online Gift Card, your card number and PIN were located in the email we sent you.

Unfortunately, if you don't have a PIN, you cannot use your Gift Card at Walmart.com. You can still use a card without a PIN or trade in your old card without a pin for a new card with a pin at any local Wal-Mart store or SAM'S Club in the United States.

Paying With More Than One Gift Card

If you would like to use more than one Gift Card to pay for your purchase, simply click "Use a Wal-Mart Gift Card" during checkout. Once you have entered the first card, you will see it appear on your Purchase Summary, and you can click "Use Another Wal-Mart Gift Card" and enter up to 4 Gift Cards per order.

Gift Card Returns and Refunds

Gift Cards are not returnable or refundable for cash except in states where required by law. If you decide to return merchandise that you purchased using your Gift Card, the refunded amount will be credited directly back to your Gift Card, so please do not throw away your Plastic Gift Card unless you are sure of your purchase, and make sure you save the Online Gift Card email.

How to Activate a Gift Card

For your security, on Plastic Gift Card orders that exceed $250 and/or 25 cards, we will require that you activate those cards. You will receive an email with a password that you can use to activate the cards.

Go to the Gift Cards page and click "Activate New Cards" in the left-hand column. You will be asked to enter your order number and the password you received in the email. Your cards will then be active and can be used in any Wal-Mart store or online at Walmart.com. SAM's Club members can also use the cards at any SAM'S Club store location in the United States as well as online at Samsclub.com.

How to Check Your Balance

To check the current balance on your Gift Card, go to "Your Account" and click "View Gift Card Balance." You will be asked to provide your Gift Card number and PIN. A list of your most recent transactions and your current balance will be displayed.

Or take your card to any store register, and an Associate will check the balance for you. You can also call 1-888-537-5503 to check your balance.

What do I do if I don't have a password?

If you placed a Plastic Gift Card order that exceeded 25 cards, you should have received a password in the activation email that was sent when your order was shipped. If you cannot find this email, or did not receive one, please contact Customer Service at 1-800-966-6546 and an associate will be happy to help you.

Lost or Stolen Gift Cards

We're sorry, but Gift Cards are just like cash. If you lose your card, we cannot replace or refund the money. If you have stored your Gift Card information, you may still use that Gift Card to make online purchases, provided the lost or stolen card has not been redeemed by someone.
