And how often does this occur?

Never been to prison, but yes. Most times, it's not a lesbian sex act, but rather a power play to humiliate and downgrade the weaker inmate. Also, I've heard of male guards raping inmates too.

Unfortunately, precise numbers are hard to come by. Most people raped behind bars don't come forward with it. They're either afraid of reprisal or the guards don't care. The only site I can direct you to is "Stop Prison Rape."

Also, I'm linking you to one report they did of women's prisons in Ohio. In some facilities, sexual abuse was thought to be as high as 27%. This counted abuse both by other prisoners and guards (despite what the poster said above, guards in women's facilities are usually female due to international law).

I hope that helps.

Rape, when you're referring to a male raping a female is easily defined as the male inserting his penis into the female's vagina against her will.

Now, clearly that form of rape is not possible when you're talking about something happening between two females. However, sexual assault most certainly does happen, with fingers and objects being forced into the vagina of an unwilling female prisoner.

The answer is yes. As to how offen it's hard to say because if a woman is raped by another inmate and reports it, she will be beaten or killed by other inmates..so most go unreported.

I have neveer been in prison and can't tell you. According to social workers and counselors it does happen and is not reported as much! The same with male inmmates.

If I had been an inmate and this happened with me, she would be treated with extreme predjudice, she would be searching for tomorrow, all the days of her life, wondering what happened with all her children. They are no different from male rapists.

I would be the Nightmare on Elm Street, she thought never happened. I would become the personification of a sociopath, that does not play well with others. I would become the female Freddie Kruger, Jason, Sadamm Huessein, Osama bin Laden and Auntie Creepy in her life, for as long as I was there. As i Moon walk on her face. She would be praying to be turned over to Edi Amin, beg my forgivness and ask to be placed in solitary confinement, with Mike Tyson.

Yes but if different ways then you can think, and just as often as in a mens prison.

I'd assume it's the same as being in a male prison and it probably happens the same amount of time as the men.

Yes they do. I am not sure how often it occurs because it varies. But it does happen.
