Yeah they should. LeBron's 83 foot shot should have been worth more than 3 at least 4. Rarely would anyone make a shot behind half court so why not, there would never be more than two or three of those per week.

where do you draw the line?
after a 4 point play is established way back and gets shot at a low percentage when does someone call for a 5 point shot?
or a full court shot being worth 10 points?

anything behind the half court line, sometimes the game is within 4 and considered over if the time is almost up, since 2 possesions are required. a hail mary is still worthless, unless it was worth 4 points

Hell no you can shoot a 3 and get foul that's you four point play. If the NBA starts that then everyone will be trying this and it will take away from the game
