Change your keyboard settings to English (United Kingdom) rather than English (US).

For XP
Go to control panel, Regional & Language Options, Regional Options tab: Set format to English (United Kingdom) & Location to United Kingdom.
Under Languages tab: Click Details button->settings tab->default input language set to English United Kingdom
Installed services, click "add button" choose Input & keyboard as English United Kingdom.

For Win 2000
Control Panel. ->Keyboard.-> Input Locales Tab. ->Add button->choose English United Kingdom & set this as default.

Hope this helps

sounds like the keyboard settings for your region/keyboard are wrong. it depends where you are and where the @ sign and " are on your keyboard.

If the @ sign is above the ' key then you are using a british keyboard. If the @ sign is above the 2 or another number then you are probably using a US keyboard.

Depending on your operating system - go to control panel, keyboard settings, languages and select the keyboard tab and set up the correct keyboard. You may have to add another one which will give you the correct layout.

Someone got into your keyboard mapper and mixed it up on you. You'll have to go back in and make the fixes manually. It's not hard to do. The b(tch is finding the keyboard mapper. I think you should be able to find it in the control panel.

It may also mean that you've got your initial settings mixed up.

You have your keyboard set as the US layout instead of the UK one.

Make sure your regional settings are for the UK.
