for my science fair project i am doing something with magnetic fields, is a magnetic field just made by one magnet? or is it made by two magnets clashing on opposite polls. or am i looking at this wrong?

A magnet is a magnetic field so to have one, two, or three is irrelevant.

A magnetic field is caused by electricity. Simply take a metal object such as a screw, wrap a thin piece of wire around the bolt several times (hundreds if possible). Apply voltage to the wire through the use of a battery pos/and negative...and there's your magnetic field. Tell your dad to pick up the items from any hardware store.

A magnetic field is made by the spinning of electrons. In an atom, spinning electrons create magnetic movement, but electrons spinning in the opposite direction cancel out. When there is a total magnetic movement, it is called the net magnetic movement of an atom. Groups of atoms are called domains. When the domains of an object are aligned and have high net magnetic movement, they generate a magnetic field. When they are not aligned, they do not create a magnetic field.

Every magnet has a magnetic field, with a north and south pole. Magnetic field lines of force exit the north pole, swing around and enter the south pole. Two magnets can be aligned so their field lines interfere constructively (attract) or destructively (repulse).

you could have a magnetic field by using one or two magnet. one magnet will generate a magnetic field. if you have a two magnets then each will generate two magnetic field and it depend on whether they are at the same direction or opposite direction. if they are at the same direction then you add the two components, otherwise you subtract them and the larger will be the direction of the field. it is a force which is composed of magnitude and direction.
