I agree with you. Here is a little story about the bible.
The Bible first existed as stories passed down through hundreds of years. Then the story was muddled and "romanfied" when the Jews were under roman control. Then it was written from memory of the stories they had heard as kids and heavily edited. Then it was lost for hundreds of more years until select gospels were found and put in. There are many, many more gospels that are not in the Bible. Then it was translated through several languages and modernised to what we read today.
Of course this is not God's exact words. Even if they were the original stories, many of the stories are meant as metaphors for God's true intentions. (e.g. parables, the creation). God made homosexuals who they are; you are either born gay or not. It is not a life decision that you can make. Prosecution is wrong and against God's word. WWJD?
"I like your Christ. I do not like your Christians. They are so unlike your Christ." - Ghandi (thanks to shelby)

you've an basic false impression of what the Church teaches about the Scriptures, or perhaps the source of the Bible as all of us understand it today. right here, in a nutshell, is a few information that could assist you. The Church teaches that the Bible is the inspired, infallible understand God (leaving aside for now the incontrovertible truth that Jesus is the understand God, it truly is a diverse theological idea than the only you're pursuing). The Church can't replace the Scriptures or what they teach. inspite of the indisputable fact that, this is the authoritative interpreter of those Scriptures, and that authority change into given by Christ himself. As for the indisputable fact that "many of the books of the Bible were written earlier the Catholic Church existed," it truly is inaccurate. The Church change into prevalent at Pentecost, even as the Spirit got here, which Christ had promised. the guy "books" were written contained in the context of the Church. earlier the institution of the Canon of Scripture, there have been many writings used by early Christians considered to be authoritative. The Church, lower than the education of the Holy Spirit, examined those writings, and accrued them mutually merely so one and all Christians might want to have the organic truth from which to study and stay. those books not inspired were excluded. So, sure. The Church believes and teaches that the Bible contains the understand God, that what it contains is electrified truth, and that it truly is to not get replaced. It does desire examining and conserving, and that is the function of the Church. you may do extra study on how the Canon change into developed, and what the Church teaches very extremely. try searching on the Catechism as a commence.

Question what makes you believe God inspired the bible - if there was no bible -there's something with in man inner self that ask question as you are doing - where did all things come from- when you truly mean business with God, He open up your God spirit , and the things you read in the bible agrees- if you do not have God spirit alive inside of you - you can not understand who God is- - so when you began to read the bible it make sense with
your inner spiritual being- until then you are in the dark , void of GOD'S understanding-

I am gay, but I do try to see from where everyone is coming from, God may not have inspired the bible but he is a major part of it and some people believe it word for word.
Which is funny because the bible tells you not to mix fabrics and that alters should not be on steps or made of stone.
I said I was TRYING to see everyone's point of view, I didn't say I did understand everyone's point of view.

I look at the world and the universe around me and I know in my heart that God DID create everything in it and for a purpose. I see the beauty of his design everywhere I look . In His written word, the Bible, I see the fulfillment of all of his prophecies to date ( all but two and they are soon to be fulfilled) and each in the exact time when the Bible said they would be. This in itself proves to me that God is true and will always be found true. Thus with my belief in the Bible firmly established, I take from it a distaste for the things he dislikes, and among those things listed are 'men who lie with men for unnatural purposes' or, in some translations 'homosexuals'. It is an unnatural practice, first mentioned in referrence to Sodom and Gomorrah, and these two cities were destroyed for their gross sexual practices. Now, if God found these practices and thus the practicERS to be so offensive as to destroy them, why should I - a person trying very hard in today's society to follow a clean, christian lifestyle - be accepting of them? It would be like wearing a white glove to inspect a sooty counter top, which would happen- would the glove get dirty or would the counter get clean?? The glove would get dirty and thanks all the same, I would prefer to keep my soul clean from such spiritual corruption as homosexuality or acceptance of it.
Our world revolves around religion and in our country especially does the Bible play a great part of who we are. Alot of what the Bible teaches explains how we are as a country. You'll find homosexuality much more accepted in many other countries where the Bible isn't as prominent in the religious scheme of things. This country was founded on Christianity, so you're going to find many of its teachings and tenets embedded in the social mores of Americans, wether they are actually 'christians' or not.

No, I'm sorry. I do believe in the Bible, and I do not believe that God made you that way, but that doesn't mean that I hate you. Now I have a lot of family who are homosexuals. I've never disrespected them in any way, shape, or form. They're all welcome in my house anytime. Never had bad words with them at all. I don't agree with their lifestyle, but it doesn't mean that I don't love them, or judge them. The Bible has been around a long time, and it has high morals. I'll believe in that to my death. I wish you the best of luck.

"In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the Beginning with God." 1John 1:1-2, My point is this: For the Jews, this was an expression of Wisdom, for the Greeks, it was expression of reasoning and intelligence. The Word of God is "Breathed" into literature of history, psalms, prophesies , and revelations for us to read and study, so we can become intimate with our Lord. My friend, it is more than a book, it is Basic Instructions Before Leaving Earth. I love anyone who is Gay or straight, but the Word of God endureth forever.

Jerks love to quote Leviticus for some reason. There are over 600 No-Nos in Leviticus, but just try to find ONE christian that even knows what they are, let alone tries to adhere to them. They just like that one. Makes them feel better than those evil gays.
That's generally the way it is with people who lack redeeming qualities of their own. They build themselves up by tearing others down, and the church helps them do that.
Love the christian, hate the christianity.
