I've babysat with other people before, but what's the best way to get babysitting jobs when you're still on the young side? (Not too young to babysit, just a young babysitter)

I do have an older sister who doesn't babysit anymore, but the only person I can think of that she babysat moved away along time ago. I already asked her for others, but there's none she can think of.

If you know 1st Aid and you have a babysitting certificate, you already have a leg up on the competition. I would much rather have you babysit than someone without those skills. You should wear something comfortable. Chasing a 4 and 6 year old in heels? No way! No really though, jeans and a t-shirt. Act? Be yourself as you always should. Always be yourself. Its best that way. Absolutely! Show them a picture of your whole family!! And being down to earth is a great quality. I think you'll do great and be a fine babysitter. All the luck.

The best way is to start off babysitting for family or family friends. Once you gain some credibility with them, let them know that you are always looking for sitting jobs. This way you can expand your network. It is also a good idea to make a portfolio of your knowledge, contact information, experience, and skills. Also, put game ideas, recipes, and possibly a schedule.
Another good way to gain the trust is to know what the house rules are. If you ask the parents what those are, they know that you are on the same page as them and that things won't go wild. Parents want somebody respectful, responsible and also fun! Lastly, transportation is key. If you have reliable transportation, it is a big plus.

Like others have stated post flyers up around the town. Maybe you could also post flyers and signs at the public library and ask at the elementary school if they know of anyone who needs a babysitter, post flyers there too.
Have you taken a babysitters course? Maybe if they are offering one in your neighborhood you could go to it and then parents will call that company and they can recommend you.
Good luck.

Word of mouth. Ask your mom to recommend you to her friends. Offer to watch the neighbors' kids. If one parent loves you, their friends will want you to watch their kids too!
