Does anyone here believe in polygamy (such as how it is portrayed on Big Love)? Does it ever really work out with the other sister wives?

I am in a polygamous marriage. I have a deep love and respct for my sister wife. I am a second wife and there is jealousy between us, but we always try to understand eachother and we both love our husband. We are in a unique situation because I am the second wife, but legally I am his wife, not her. When we go to his country, where she is also from, We are both legally his wives, because polygamy is legal there.

Polygamy is illegal, as you may already know, because it involves marrying more than one person either with the consent of one or more of the participants. Polygamy is a form of PLURAL RELATIONSHIP.

But people who choose to engage in plural relationships (not just polygamy) do so because they agree to it.

Whether most religious people want it or not, plural relationships do work for those who agree in practicing it on their own FREE WILL. But you must agree to it, not be forced into it.

And those of us who don't agree with plural relationships WE MUST RESPECT THOSE WHO WISH TO LIVE SUCH A WAY. If hey never force us into their life-style, we should not force others to live our way.

I find it hard to imagine that a woman would be either so secure, or so insecure that she would allow her husband to sleep with another woman. Let alone marry her too. Mormons used to be allowed to have more than one wife, but that has been banned for quite a while. I personally dont think that I would want to share my wife with another guy, and I know she wouldn't want to share me.

No its t.V. not based on real morals. I don't believe it does work out ... come on women can't even share their own brushes without getting a little annoyed.Let alone their husband. Come on would you want the man of your dreams taking off with some other women and not allowed to say you don't like it.... that is so retarded. 1man 1woman... easy.

No. God meant for us to have one man and one woman that we share our lives with. It's immoral and frankly everyone who is a polygamist is a sinner and is insecure.
