To resolve conflicts at the lowest chain of command possible. If a supervisor has a problem with a subordinate, do you jump the chain of command and talk to the President? Or do you just talk to your manager to work something out? When you are at different levels of the chain, you have different levels of responsibility, of which you are most likely at the appropriate level of competence.

A chain of command is an efficient way to get things done. Everyone knows who has the power and the authority to order how things are done. It is also a chain of responsibility. It keeps the common soldier free to do what he is instructed to do without fear that he is being left exposed to the enemy.

We have the chain of command throughout the governance of our nation, and then therefore also downwards and into our military for to ensure that the head of any lead of charge in any length or position in this command, is assured of the most competent dissemination of information, by this chain of command, and this is accomplished through the execution of executive or direct orders downwards, in this chain of command.

From the use of a chain of command also, and being another reason for its cause, necessity and logic of its follow, shows by such that each within this chain of command should be expected to have the wherewithal to be able to not only ascertain wherein lies a possible incorrect or poor following and/or execution of said executive or direct order, but it also leaves for the availability of the importance of, in the better knowledge and faith in, the integrity of the chain of command if by chance any happenstance occurs, which may remove a "link" from this chain, which sometimes becomes necessary or prudent, for a lower link in this chain, and with proper direction, the person taking place in this missing link of this chain, should be expected of being fully and capably trained to do such.

It is also understood, and in conclusion regarding the issue of explanation to the importance derived and benefited from the nature of this chain of command, besides the expected ease in transition towards the filling of this possible missing link, as mentioned above, is the awareness of such a possibility, by all in this chain, and for whatever reason being and without hesitation, is the chain of commands own self-facilitation aspect in its process, whereby making lower ranks or links in the chains need to be directed to do such from a higher source, or many sources within this chain, unnecessary, whereby keeping intelligence intact and secure.
