The type of people especially males related to tourism industry,and who stalk the lone western woman are perverted and looks her as a sex object. Few routine places which tourists often visit became notorious where it is easy to prey upon by such men.So its always advisable for a woman to avoid such people.In India,its permissible and not punishable under law for a woman to kill a man who tries to outrage her modesty.So dont fear.For safety always carry a pistol in bag.But as a last word, all Indian men are not like that.

I think it is your mind set.
I think they are looking at you constantly, this may be true but lots of female do the same thing for various reason, mostly trying to figure out were are you from or how you keep your hair the way it is or some thing.
If some thing is unusual in the behaviour (because of the cultural differences there is always some thing that attract attention) then it does occupy their attention some may be thinking of helping you but did not know how to. If you had given some case history why or in which way you would not have received(what time machine u travelling in .... )or( How so?) this type of harsh comments.
My sympathy is with you. Hope your trip was not spoilt completely because of this thing.

It is the fact that normaly we read in the books western about freak out girls, etc etc. that is always there in our mind. And our system of marrying a girl, is not the same in western culture. If men think they are granted for all and likes to have pleasure in saying that I have slept with the western girl may be can become a hero in his friends circle. Main part is seeing a western woman, our men will undress by eyes and start dreaming as if he is sleeping with her.
