first of all, let me ask where are you from? second, let me point out that if it weren't for the americans getting involved with WW2 a great deal of Europe would be speaking German right now..a fact that many seem to conveniently forget.. and as for "the slaughter of Iraqi civilians numbering in the thousands" you seem to have forgotten the "THOUSANDS" of innocent americans that were killed on 9/11!! What of those "innocent" lives lost.. ? Did they deserve to die the way they did? I THINK NOT!! as for our "stupid democracy", well, this country isn't perfect by any stretch of the imagination but there must be something pretty good about it for hundreds of people to risk their lives and the lives of their families to get here by any means possible.. wouldn't you think so.. correct me if I'm wrong but we don't see that in other countries do we? and if YOU are living in the US then I say go back to where you came from.. The thing about America is that we are free to have our own opinions. Just because our government does something doesn't mean that the people approve of it. Almost half of all American's have protested the Iraq war from the beginning and this is evidenced by the fact that a different political party has taken over our legislature in the recent election. All countries have had dark times in their history.
