Great Question. I guess it is all the anticipation and planning we do to be ready for Christmas. Once the presents are opened (and some need to be returned) and the dinner is finished, we are just plain pooped. January comes with a mailbox full of bills which we review and can't imagine how much we spent for such a short period of time.
January also promises new beginnings, so I think that comes into play when we are expressing our relief that the Christmas duties are a whole 12 months away.

I agree, i love Christmas and couldn't wait for it to come but I'm delighted I'm taking down the decorations in the morning.

It's always fun to give presents and recieve them.
It's stressful because relatives come over, and accomdating them, making them happy can be difficult, plus holiday shopping in general can put ANYONE in a foul mood.

i am not relieved. i am sad. however if u were relieved, than it could be because alot of work is associated with xmas (buying gifts, preparing food, etc.) so thats probably why. :]

because its a crazy time of buying alot of people presents and running to mom and dads and the inlaws and i work in retail so it really sucks, im just glad today was the last day for returns at my work! woohoo

Christmas is like sex.... you build yourself up spend all your money and then ''boom'' its over in a flash your poor and the 'presents' you got weren't all that lolol
