my baby is almost ten months old. she sleeps really well and night, and has been having two sleeps during the day (total of about 3 hours). the last few days she has been fighting the morning sleep, when i try to put her down, she is wide awake and quite happy. definitely not overtired or grizzly. one day she did have a morning sleep but only for 40 mins. yesterday i kept her up and put her to sleep about 12 and she slept for just over two hours. she was fine before and after. did you baby do a similar thing? do you think i should just stick to this routine from now on?
thanks, any feedback would be appreciated

thanks for all the ideas, it is interesting to hear what other babies do. it is also amusing to read responses of people who are obviously not taking their medication today (all peaches and cream) lol

No .I think you need serious help. You say she sleeps great through the night ..or okay.Your baby is almost 1 years old
Theres no such thing s a morning sleep. There is however
a couple of naps. maybe..Midday .You should not let your baby sleep over a hour. With max 2 naps.Spread out ......I reccomend you seek some counsel. You arent happy I assume and thats why you ask this question.Your first priority should be your
childs.Your baby is not an newborn anymore.;And has growing needs. Why don't you get up and grow up ..With your child .
Before you lose "the sleeps very well at night part" Are you sure ?
Or just maybe not hearing her.I have my doubts your child sleeps well at night in consideration of what you wrote in your question.
I have seen about twenty eight years ago something on 60
minutes about sleep positions and what they may mean.I do recall they shown A child who sleeps on their knees with their but in the air is an child that is abused in some kind of way.A baby does not need all of this sleep Maybe you do...I doubt it highly if your child or children ever have been over tired in their lives.Maybe thats just something you heard somewhere and decided to define it in your own way.Sorry your child is not tired at all.You should seek a counsel ...Maybe you suffer depression
or some other illness Why would you want to impose your
life choice and style it on your child..You are very lucky to have a child that naps period! 3 hours is too much.
Your baby is growing up.She might like solid food for lunch or playtime. If you don't work go to school what have you..
Theres no excuse why you do not want to enjoy every waking
moment with your child. You can't change the world..But you can change your baby.and enjoy the ......Babies don't do similiar
things .It's you ....A similiar thing? Yes he/she did actually.
THEY GREW!

hmm every baby is different play it by ear babys do most of there growing in there sleep so when there having a groth spirt they sleep more then other times. I say if she gets up at about 7 am and is still wide awake by ten just watch her and if by 12 or 1 she still is not acting sleepy or cranky try putting her down anyways. but dont let her sleep longer then 3 hrs. and see how that goes if you see she is getting cranky earlier then normal in the day theres a good chance she still needs her cat 2 cat naps. if not your good.

It depends on how much your baby sleeps at night. The average for a one year old is about 13.5 hours total (night + naps) If she's getting around that, she probably doesn't need the morning nap. Check out

for sleep averages through age 18.

Good luck!

They go through stages. Sometimes they fight the sleep and then sometimes they give in. If anything maybe your baby maybe ready to cut her naps down alittle. But it is nothing to worry about!Let it ride out and see what goes from there. Like I said it could be a stage your baby is going through! Good luck!

As long as she isn't cranky, then she may be getting to the point where she only needs a nightly sleep.
