Dwarf Hamster?

My mom just recently purchased a Dwarf Hamster.How do you know if it male or female.Any way to tell?

if you turn him over...look towards his bum.....if there are two large "lumps" there, hes male...if not then its a female

It's hard to tell when they're young. If it's adult it's usually easier. Similar to a cat, hamsters have an area of loose skin between their shoulderblades at the base of their neck. Pick the hamster up gently by this "scruff" and hold it up (being careful not to drop it!). If it's a male, you should be able to see testicles - they'll look like lumps on each side of the tail (but in front of the tail). If you don't see anything it's probably a female... but I'd check every few weeks for a few months just to be sure. Once it matures, it'll be easier to tell.

Usually around the bottom there is a big sack usually a pink sack at his bottom it does ehrm well stick out and if its a female it has no sack maybe you should try google or some hamster expert -Bring it back to the petstore ask the people who sold the hamster to your mom

Well when you bought it you could havve asked it is really hard to tell they guy who i bought it from said i had 2 boys i ahd a boy and a girl and theyy had babies soo wou can contact the store :)

If it has a round butt, male, curving in, like a v, female, otherwise, check its private part.

Hold it belly-up, and you should be able to tell. ;D
Why would she purchase an animal without finding this out, though..?
