I think the guy means well but is very easily controlled by his own ego and impulses, so while he'd be a cool guy to sit down and go fishing with, and fairly intelligent vis a vis an average person, he is, at least in his current mindset, not capable of handling the incredibly tough job he has.

Look at what happend when Clinton was president economically: he put his ego aside and let Americans and their own policy control the economy, and it skyrocketed to its best growth in decades and without, say, exploiting the poor or other nations.

Meanwhile Bush is dumping money into the war and blaming it for economic problems. While this is typical in world history in the 1940's and before, when organizations like the UN did get to exercise much power, you'd think Bush could think past that and listen to nations around him. But instead, he ignored them and, judging by the way he stomps around at debates, I got a strong impression he was trying to prove what a "man" he was to the point it skewed/still-skews his good intentions toward keeping this nation in power. What's ironic is that the US had more power and respect around the world back in the Clinton Era then it does now, not to mention a whole lot less casualties of US soldiers and innocent foreigners.
So Bush, no matter how well meaning, has been a "backfire president" so far. I'm not saying the guy should resign or give up, I am hoping he will admit he has made mistakes and do what Clinton did, ask Americans (including people outside his party), other nations, and other organizations (like the UN) and take their opinions into account rather than letting his ego take over his choice of "a good decision".

We don't necessary need a new president, but we do need whoever is in office to have the ability to be mindful and able to see the greater problems outside his/her own biases. Let's hope Bush can open himself up to that perspective before his term ends.

Well, I didn't vote for him in 2000, but my opinion of him forever changed after 9/11. I feel that he has acted promptly and correctly to protect this country and I thank God everyday that we have him as our President. I did vote for him in 2004 and thank God again that flip flop traitor John Kerry didn't get elected (sorry people, but he denegrated our country and forces, thereby giving aid and propaganda to the enemy during Vietnam- he should be in prision NOT president).
Granted there have been missteps like he needs to concentrate on securing our borders and killing a bill that will allow illegals to claim SSI after working 18 months with a bogus social security number (yes people this is happening---the president is set to sign it into law when it passes the house and senate oh and FYI legal Americans must work 10 years before claiming SSI AND last year with these bogus social security numbers the government paid them over 10 billion dollars in income tax refunds!!!) Our country is being run into the poor house by illegals and instead they are worried about raising the minimum wage?
I think history will be kind to our president...he prevented any additional attacks on our country (no small feat) and while waging a war gave tax cuts that jump started the economy- we have the lowest unemployment rate that we have had in years...
I have no idea why people dislike him, he is a christian family man who is patriotic and caring.

Not bad for economics, few mistakes.
Not great for environment, His idea of science is still the old rocks in the shoebox routine
Terrible for defense. He has virtually no military experience and it has showed badly. His handling of defense contracts in Iraq is abominible. His buddy Cheney has made money from this war. He still has holdings in Haliburton.
He was correct on 9/11 except he never figured Pakistan would give up its Northern territories to the Taliban and thus Al-Qaeda.
His biggest flaw is the Patriot Act. It's another example of "Big Brother is Watching"

He's our president and considering the USA has been a-okay for the past few hundred years, compared to old countries like Asia, Middle East and Europe, HEY we aren't so bad at all !
All the grumbling hype is just that hype ..... I don't buy it !
Bush is okay with me, not perfection, just a man doing the job the best he can with the helpers that he's got.
When you live in the world of imperfect, this ain't so bad
considering the alternatives... YUP, we should have some bragging rights without worrying about the whiney-kaka-political correctness-finger-pointers

Well of course, he's flawed, and has the toughest job ON Earth, but I like him because I think he is basically a good man who does try to do the right thing. I think his faith makes him accountable to something greater than himself and/or his pride and/or whims. A man of no faith scares me, because he's not grounded. Same reason I like Lieberman.

I don't agree with everything Bush says or does, but I feel safe with him in office. And I like is personality and taste in women (Laura). Who he married says a LOT about him. Same with Clinton, but in a negative way.

PS. If you haven't seen Frank Caliendo's impersonation of Bush, go to youtube and check it out (on Letterman). You will DIE.

You certainly cannot agree with anyone on everything...it just so happens that I disagree with many items of concern where Bush is concerned.

Besides war, he has a horrible record where the environment and education are concerned. He seems to think that it is okay to destroy things as long as his friends are happy.

I've had it with him. I'm a republican, I'll admit to that. But I am fed up with him. The latest thing with the invading our mail is just the last straw in a long line of straws that have me drowning in anger over his utter lack of competence.

Some things I've agreed with, but others are just enough is enough.

And if your going to send our troops to war at the VERY least make sure your Veterans Hospitals and Benefits are being fully funded, don't expect the families of veterans to suffer because they served their country.
