Yes the Embargo against France was very important,
Yes the war in Tripoli,
Yes the Louisiana Purchase was incredible the way he pushed that one through congress, he was a statesman and not a politician that is why it was accomplished without a hitch, a very matter of fact guy with many persuavsive methods.
Yes he stopped the slave trading for a while.
Lewis and Clark Expedition was an incredible credit to him that gave us more territory as well eventually.
Louisiana was just a little bit compared to the pacific Northwest. Yes and Ohio became a new territory added to our government states of the colonies. He was an incredibly talented and a very strong willed man with a brilliant mind. Too bad there is no one like him today. There are many of his writings available as well. When it came to France and Louisiana, France was very lucky they gave in, Because Jefferson stated "Embargo On", and meant it, they knew him and feared him as well. His slogan was if they want War we will take them to war. When he went to France he was treated very well, unlike Ben Franklin who they treated like a criminal at times. He was accused of having too many illegitimate children by the King. Jefferson had one child by Sally Hemmings, Betty Hemmings was the mother and Jefferson's wife's father was the Father of Sally. Sally was raised with Jefferson's daughter and sent to school with his daughter in France. Sally was treated very well considering, Jefferson was basically a widow, he loved his wife very much and sat at her bedside writing all the while she was ill. She had 5 pregancies and lost all but one child. She died very young. He ordered that all the people that were ever a part of his Monticello would be buried there in the family cemetary, and his children and grandchildren of his wife or Sally as well. You may see all of this on that site.

Go with Ahmisa's answer. It covers what Jefferson actually did, not what happened. The Embargo Act (the suspension of trade) and the Barbery pirates and Tripoli were also very important.
