honda makes acura, so go there. do not go online to get replacement keys. these keys will unlock a car door, but will not start the car. they are missing the electronic chip in the key to start the car. you are wasting your money.

IF SHE HAS LOST ALL KEYS:for one, you have to bring it to a dealer.HAVE TO! The key has an imobilizer chip in it, only a dealer can make you a key that works. Two, it has to go to an Acura dealer because Honda's keys contain different chips. A locksmith cannot cut you a key that start the car, only one that gets you in the door( because of the chip) unfortunatly thats the only way it can be done. There will be a fee for labor as well because the car will have to be towed to the dealer so it can be hooked up to a computer and have the chip code transfered to the new key.
IF ALL SHE NEEDS IS A SPARE: she'll still have to go to the dealer because the code will have to be transfered. She'll need the appropriate identification.

Call a locksmith and make sure you tell him your key has a transponder chip inside. Some locksmiths can make the key and program the chip. Even though Honda and Acura are under the same ownership, you cannot go to Honda to get an Acura key made and programmed.

Good luck.

What do you mean by replacement ignition key? if you are talking about the key it self... you are going to need to drive to a dealer, they are the only ones who can do that and reprogram the cars ecu imobolizer chip aswell as the keys.

If its because she lost a key then thats the only way about it. the door locks can be done by any locksmith but not the ignition.

As far as parts you can try honda eStore (http://estore.honda.com/asp/logon.asp?bhcp=1&bhsw=1024&bhiw=1024) you are going to be able to pick up all the hardware your self through them and have it delivered to you but any programming is going to need to be done by them, you can try to contact a honda dealer, but sometimes that dosent work.

they dont even know what kind of oil filter the RSX uses...its basically the same for every car now besides the s2k...idiots. Their computer wont tell you anything about the parts you need.

i dont know about a honda dealer but it is worth a try. if not they can guide you in the right direction. also, if you call an acura dealer and fax them the info the need along with the owners ID, a utility bill with the same address as on the registration, and some info on the bank loan, you can get one mailed to you.
a locksmith will also work but cost alot more. depends on how desperate you are for the key.

You will have to find a dealer. Honda dealers should be able to cut a key they will have to order it if you want it to say acura on it. the key DOES have a transponder chip in it and the dealer will have to have the car to program the key(car has to be connected to a computer.

the key most likely has a transponder embedded in it. you have to take it to a dealer to program it to the car. call honda before you make a trip. does acura still offer roadside assistance for a 2002 model? if so, they could tow it to a dealer no matter how far for little or no cost.

I guess only dealer can do keys because a locksmith one not always work but she can go and order on line or a least ask for more information about it. The difficulty part is because there is no dealers otherwise she will go and provide her registration and ID. But try order on line. Good luck!

bite the bullet and tow the automobile until now you do 1000's of greenbacks worth of harm to the wiring. you in all probability have a steerage wheel lock so regardless of in case you warm cord the ignition you will basically circulate in circles. you will possibly be able to even have an ignition key that desires programming, without programmed key the immobilizer will shop the automobile from beginning. To software a sparkling key maximum autos might desire to be on the broker so as that the programming could be carried out.
