Selfishness.
It begins with one person caring more about themselves and what they need/want than about the other person and what they need/want.

The main causes of divorce are: poor communication, a lack of financial stability, infadelity, and a lack of commitment to the marriage. A rescent study suggests that time, sex and money pose the three biggest obstacles to satisfaction in the lives of newly married couples. The study found that debt brought into marriage, the couples' financial situation, balancing job and family, and frequency of sexual relations were of greatest concern. The other top problematic issues the study showed were, in order, husband's employment; overall financial situation; expectations about household tasks; constant bickering; communication with spouse; parents or in-laws; and time spent together with spouse.

Statistically speaking, money problems have been the main cause for failed marriages for as long as they've been getting married. When a couple has financial problems it affects every other area in the marriage. If a couple can't solve their money issues there is little,if any, chance for success.

Lack of communication. If you are not communicating, you are not solving problems (whether they be financial, relationship or any other problem.)
Too many unsolved problems in a marriage leads to frustration and unhappiness.
Communication is the key!

i would say the neglet of one of the partners towards the other one. The love that goes away from acting like the other no longer exsists. Lack of interest. No communication anymore.
