Most would not categorize it as chick lit, but the female protagonists are interesting, as are the messages in Orson Scott Card's Women of Genesis books: Sarah, Rebekah, and Rachel & Leah

I love anything by Francine Rivers! Her books a really great. Secular wise I enjoy a good murder mystery minus the sex, graphic violence, etc. and have found a few good authors out there for that. You may want to check out Tamar Myers and her Pennsylvania Dutch series and Lillian Jackson-Braun's "The Cat Who . . ." books. Both series are fabulous and you don't really feel like you need to shower afterward!

Oh you have to read Redeeming Love by Francine Rivers, it is one of the most amazing books that I have ever read. It made me change the way I view my relationship with God and other people.
