I understand what you are saying, but it is not totally accurate... Spirits can be seen at any time during the day, in the evening, and at night........ people are taught that spirits only come out and night. But that is very far from the truth.......... Now there are time that demons are at their strongest. And mankind does confused demons (fallen angels) and spirits. But most spirit hunters do know the difference.................. Also there are many books that can help you tell them apart......................................

Most ghost hunting does seems to be carried out at night.I really think that it is because even everyday things can take n a different perspective in the dark, especially if the right atmosphere is created.
Just for the purpose of answering your question, let's presume that there is evidence that ghosts do exist. But are unaware that they are no longer part of this living world. So keep going about their previous lives.
How confusing it must be for them!
Also devastating. Imagine if they had left behind a husband who remarried, and the ghosts children have a new Mum.
For them time must pass so slowly, and so be lonely.
No wonder they are always depicted as mournful.
What could they do, except wander around looking at this and that and probably wish they were dead!
Eating would serve no purpose nor would it be possible.
Food is material and they belong in a non material dimension.
No taste or hunger sensations anyway!
Sex and affection would be just a fading memory.
As would any of the normal human body functions and needs.
No sleeping, that's only required by the living. It would no longer be needed,no cells etc. to regenerate.
Ghosts from times long passed, would really have problems.
They may have lived in a two storey house. that was long ago pulled down and a K.F.C. built in its place.
Ever see any ghosts walking up non existing stairs to non existing floors?
Don't think they have got that picture yet.
Then there is the reverse. Some poor ghosts would be wandering underground, as land levels change.
Back to reality.
I don't think it would be able to catch a ghost on film or see it with the naked eye if they existed. Some ghost hunters use infra red heat seeking cameras.
Why the dead are cold there is no heart beat, no blood circulation to show "hot spots",that are offered as photographic evidence.
The mind is a very powerful thing that no one fully understand ,yet.
A little suggestion can go a long way to cause someone to believe in almost anything.

You can see ghosts during the day. I have and I know other people who have. If you are talking about ghost hunt tours you pay for that would be because it's spookier at night. Same applies for things you see on tv shows. Sometimes there is a story about a particular ghost roaming a particular building at night so in those cases you'd naturally go at the time the ghost has been sighted before.

I don't think ghost hunters see ghosts at all. It's like calling Ms.Cleo and thinking she's telling you an accurate fortune. The dark is spookier, maybe that's why they say they can only see ghosts in the dark.

I didn't know that finding ghosts and the dark were correlated. I see ghosts from time to time, but never in very dark conditions.
However, if people are usual sensitive electronic equipment perhaps lights or electricity in general interferes.

It doesn't have to be totally dark, but the ones I've seen were made of light, so they needed a black backdrop.
