Why is it that teens feel the need to have sex before marriage?

I really don't understand that whats the real reason besides raging hormones please get back to me.

Low-self esteem, and the want to fit in with a certain group of people. Teenagers need to have enough self-confidence in themselves to know what they want and don't want. Many teens think that they are not going to get pregnant, or get their partner pregnant, or pass along STDs. Teenagers are not able to understand that what they do now could affect them for the rest of their lives, that could be in a good or bad way. If you are going to have sex at least be smart about your decision.

Why is it that people feel that they need to wait to have sex? I think if you have found the right person and you are responsible then why not? Why does there have to be so many "forbidden fruits" for teenagers? Honestly, I think it is ridiculous-- but then again I'm an athiest and don't have a holy book telling me it is wrong to share my love through sex unless I have a ring.

Besides this did you know that more than 50% of marriages in North America end in divorce? According to that statistic, and if even HALF of divorcees get remarried, that means that if everyone waited until marriage for sex at least 25% of married couples will have had 2 partners.

All in all, waiting is useless. It is not in human nature to do so.

Well raging hormones is not to be dismissed, this is what their bodies are telling them to do!

Another reason of course is sex is an act of love, if you love someone sex is a natural expression of this love. When your talking about "teens" your covering a very wide age group although it is only 6 years there is a huge difference between a 13 year old and a 19 having sex.

Of course there are many reasons teens have sex that are silly alcohol, pressure from a partner and lust but he are NOT exclusive to teens adults make these mistakes allt he time too.

At 17,18 and 19 many people are mature enough to enter into a loving stable sexual relationship the idea you need to get married to have a sexual relationship is not viable at any age.

Teens follow suit...meaning they want to do everything else does. That is something teens have seen others do for years and when they finally get the chance to feel sexy and wanted they dont want to lose that attention. I personally am glad i have done the things i have i just 18 and i am pregnant with my first baby meaning i will only be 36 when that baby is 18..i will still have a life after words.

Because marriage is a peice of paper. Why wait? And if you get that paper first and THEN find out you're not compatable, it's going to cost you big time. Hell, forget the marriage altogether.

Lust.
Sometimes love.
And alot of people don't even get married at all. They just live with their boyfriend/girlfriend forever. Not officially married...

There really isn't a problem with it if they are protected from STDs and responsible in case of pregnancy.

Hormones, peer pressure and the belief that nothing bad will happen to them. Far more kids regret sexual activity than regret virginity, though.

Sometimes we feel urges and fall over ourselves just to fufil them. Love, and pressure from boyfriend\ girlfriend to give in, are major reasons also.
