Adolf Hitler selected the appropriate numerological date and time, and shot himself in the head after swallowing poison. Eva Braun, fixated on him her whole life to the point of two suicide attempts to get his attention, was already dead. We can say that she, at least, got what she asked for. (Whether she still wants it is another question.)
But yeah, he wanted to make sure that he wasn't around when Russia took the bunker because he knew what they'd do to him. And he was right, too. His relatives to this day hide in obscurity because of the notoriety of one lunatic ancestor.
