"Soul-Mate" is over used.
Maybe you should evaluate what that truly means before you try to keep a relationship going if it's really not meant to be.

Never stop doing the things you and your soul mate like to do. Most couples stop doing the exciting things they did when they first met. The little things, flowers, candy, little love you notes for no reason. Go for a ride every now and then just to spend time outside the house. Most of all say those three little words I LOVE YOU each and everyday!

Never forget to be nice and thoughtful.
Do things just to please the other person, i.e. surprises, doing something unexpected - notes by their morning coffee cup, hugs for no reason, be sure to touch them if you pass by them, in public be sure to offer to hold their hand, arm around the shoulders. It is the little stuff that endears you.

Sharing good times, sharing bad times, sharing stories, sharing a bed, sharing secrets, sharing interests, and sharing lives.
Caring.
Caring about what happens to the other person when you're not around. Caring about how they feel. Caring about their reputation. Caring about what they have to say. Caring about how your actions are going to affect them.
