The answer and solution lies within the 2 problems your mom has with pets.
1. You won't take care of the pet.
2. You need to have friends take care of the pet when you travel but they are on vacation too and may not be able to care for them.
If you really believe you should have a pet and you really believe you will take care of it, then show your mom that you can take care of animals by either taking a pet care course and showing this to your mom. Reason with her more calmly than you have ever did before amd don't be frustrated. Just reason, be calm and happily believe you will win her over. Get books at the library all the time about taking care of animals.
The next area is what to do about traveling. If you get a real small dog that can fly with you in the same seat in a dog carrier, you may not have to pay extra. Usually real small dogs are allowed and they also are allowed in many hotels if they are under a ceratin weight.
The key here is to find a dog so cute, so very cute that your mom will even like it. But first do your groundwork and lead up to a mature, adult like discussion where you show her that you will take care of it and that you have worked out the different senarios in case you need to travel. If you get a small, cute pet, it is more likely your friends will watch it for you from time to time when they are not traveling.
Remember to be calm and speak with your mom with reasoning. It may take time but you will win her over if you believe.

make the cute face and probably u would need to beg too. Earn cash and prove ur responsible. oh yeah, finish ur homework and then do ur chores. If they notice u are doing well in school they might give it to u. I know one way to also do it too. It was 3 years ago and I got a pet rabbit. Trust me, if u just begged and made the cute face or something I think u would get it. If it does work yay! Yikes if it doesn't. I really believe that it will work. The taking care ofs could be ur cousins, aunt, uncle, grandparents, ur neighbors and even a pet place. I think they have one in Anaheim and Arcadia. There are much more...

First of all if your mother says no, then she probably means it, whining will (and should not) get you anywhere. If you want the love and fuzziness of a pet, volunteer at a shelter or vet's office. Maybe when you are older your Mom will have a change of heart. She knows she will be the one who ends up taking care of any animal that you bring into the house. My daughter got a dog at 16 and when she left home guess who inherited the dog while she went off to college.

Persuade your mom by writing a letter that you will take care of the pet. If you are worried about traveling either get a cat or a small pet that can go with you. Cats aren't hard to take care of when your away. They are very independent. Make sure someone comes in and just gives them food and fresh water everyday. My mom finally let me get a bunny after four years. If you ask enough, she will get sick of it and gewt you a pet. But you should figure out what type of pet you want first. If you were to get a bunny, make sure your mom DOESN'T Put it OUTSIDE in a hutch! Rabbits are house pets and can be litter trained. My first bunny Buttons came to Hilton Head Island with us! I walked her around on the beach! Then I got Snowball, they said he was a girl, too. But he isn't. Now we have five bunnies. Rabbits are awesome pets, they are like cats or dogs. They like to go to sleep in bed with me! Good Luck!!!!

Volunteer at your dads vet business to get some love with the pets and maybe they will see that you are grown up enough to have a pet. Otherwise, wait until you are out of college will a good job that will allow for you to care for and afford a pet.

Prove to your mom that you are responsible enough to have a pet by many ways. Thin of your mom weaknesses, like food or stuff and try to court her. Do not argue with her or else she will be more resistant. Mothers knows best. In time she willl give in.

Here's the perfect solution until you're old enough to move out and have whatever pet(s) you like: adopt a virtual pet! Adopt a monkey, snake turtle, cat, dog, whatever and never worry about cleaning, sickness, dying or anything (unless it happens in the virtual world). Go to the site below and if you're old enough adopt your own. Have fun.

Have you given Mom a reason to doubt you would be a responsible pet owner? If so, .maybe you had better talk that out first. Try discussing the pet issue with mom......quietly and attentively....hear out her reasons, and she'll probably afford you the same courtesy.
Maybe start small............fish??...not exactly the most loving or intelligent pet, but inexpensive, and can give you a chance to PROVE your responsibility for caring for a pet
Good Luck

Just wait until you have your own place. And if you travel a lot, leaving your dog can be bad for it emotionally and physically. Kennels often contain some strain of Kennel Cough and anyways, if its your dog, passing it around will cause problems for yourself and others who care for it. Different people have different techniques for caring for dogs. It would need a set, consistant routine if you want it to be trained right.

promise her that you will take of it. Show her that you are responsible and will do most of the work yourself. I have the same sort of situation and heres where at your age it might me tough: monday- friday from 8-3 you are at school. who will be home to take care of the dog then. Anyway if its something you really want don't bug your mom. If she knows that you really want one and will take care of it, she might let you have one. my advice is to just be patient and show her that you can responsible enough to take care of a little one all your own
