Young impressionable girls are influenced by celebrity Role models commonly known as "The TRASHinista Taliban". Good girl images are out, due to the money put into trash! They don't see they are airbrushed to perfection and are fake!

Encourage young girls and make a Mantra for them, they are the ones who are not Common! Let them see how much more fashionable they are without being Trashy and show them what real class is. It certainly is not a drunk 1/2 dressed GED dropout.

I agree, it is rather sad how women have taken the roll of wanting to be less,(Diva-wise) rather than more in the corporate world.
I mean, the media exercises free speech, but i think they have taken it to a point where they put it into young girls minds tht they have to be beautiful, ditsy,and rich to get anywhere in life now-a-days. I'd prefer a female who is headstrong and can stand up for herself...someone like Paris Hilton who can't even change a tire.
I really do think its the Media's fault for putting degradingimages into the youths mind, cause that what i believe is the cause.

Perhaps it's the pressure that they put on themselves. And also due to external pressures like friends, media and the "need" for attention from the opposite sex.

It's so easy to be trapped in these situation when one is easily swayed or affected by some "less-then ideal-" models in their lives. What I mean is that perhaps these girls grow up thinking that it's OK to fool around, etc.

So, I think the way a girl is brought up and her surroundings have paramount effect on how they value their themselves. They should grow up loving themselves first. Self-worth, that's perhaps lacking among girls nowadays.

So true for a lot of girls. My friends always are fussing about clothes and hair and underclothes. In high school underclothes should not be an issue... but it's true that the biased views of the media do more damage than anything. once one girl gets it into her head, the element of pier pressure is added. I have seen perfect little angels who aways get straight a's turned into complete sluts with skirts up to the edge of their hot pink thongs. It pisses me off that morons like Paris can influence girls. While people talk about her being stupid, they want to have her body. So they go and starve themselves then show their ribs off to the world. what really pisses me off is that even the most decent guy can't help but react. of course that just encourages them...

Not sure this is the case...the theory is that girls these days shouldn't be under any pressure to be 'prissy' (pre 60s) or 'slutty' (post lib). The whole point of postfeminism is to embrace female sexuality in a positive and empowering way (see Camille Paglia's championing of Madonna). If you want plastic surgery, have it. But also, if you are not comfortable with shaving your legs, then don't. It's all about choice.
The point is, wearing skimpy clothes is not an invite to sex, and does not mean you're cheap. In the same way that dressing like a librarian doesn't have to mean you're boring, frigid, or repressed.
