My boyfriend went to med. school for the first year, and did really well. He wasn't sure it was right for him though and asked for a leave of absence just for a few months, which they granted him. He did not return but worked and travelled for the past 3 years.

Is there any chance he will be allowed back in to resume his 2nd year? Would they make him retake his MCATs or reapply?

Any advice?

If he was doing well, most likely they will accept him back. but it is really up to the school. Contact the admissions department of the school and you will find out for sure. Best of luck with it.

He could, but it's such a competitive field. He'll probably have to apply at a lot of school and it might take years. He didn't take it seriously the first time around. What is going to make the board members think that he'd be serious this time?

What were his conditions when he was granted the leave of absence? Was there a time limit? Depending on what the school said, it's certainly possible they'll let him back in.
